The Rig
Everything from the gate to the limiter, built for low tunings, fast chugs and breakdowns that hit like a casket lid.
3-channel amp head
Clean, Crunch and Lead channels, each with its own Gain, Low, Mid, High, Presence, Resonance and Volume. Global input, noise gate, high-pass filter, drive, punch and master.
6-pedal board
FLAYER, SUBGRAVE, THE GALLOWS and MAIMER in front of the amp. CATACOMB and MAUSOLEUM after the cab. Pedals and distortion run at 4x oversampling.
Cab, mics & IR loader
A built-in 4x12 with two mics: dynamic, ribbon or condenser. Set mic position and distance, blend the two, or load your own IR (WAV / AIFF / FLAC) and blend it with the built-in cab.
DOUBLE
Stereo double-tracking from one DI. Two takes with slightly different timing and voicing, spread left and right for a wall of guitar. Width and Variation controls.
CHOKE
A low-end palm-mute compressor. It clamps the low-end bloom that smears fast chugs together and lets the pick attack through. Amount, crossover, release, pre- or post-cab.

The Pedalboard
Six pedal slots: four before the amp and two after it. Each slot has a dropdown, so you can put any pedal in any slot, in any order, including the Gravewell GW-1 bass fuzz, or leave a slot empty. Switch any of them in or out. THE GALLOWS is also available free on its own as The Gallows.
FLAYER
6-band EQ
Six faders from 100 Hz to 4 kHz, ±12 dB each, plus level. Tighten the low end before the amp.
SUBGRAVE
Octave
Octave-down and octave-up voices with grit, level and dry mix. Adds weight to slam riffs.

Chainsaw distortion
Two-stage chainsaw distortion with wide Low / High EQ, a sweepable mid, Normal / Burn voicing, its own boost and gate. Also available free on its own as The Gallows.
MAIMER
Overdrive
Drive, tone, mid and level. The classic tight boost in front of a high-gain amp.
CATACOMB
Analog delay
20 ms to 2 s, with repeats, mix, tone, modulation and tempo sync. Turn the time knob and the pitch glides.
MAUSOLEUM
Reverb
Size, decay (a quarter second up to 12 s), pre-delay, low cut, high cut and mix.
The Cab
- Built-in 4x12 closed-back cab, with switchable artwork.
- Two mics, each dynamic, ribbon or condenser, with position (cap to cone) and distance controls.
- A/B blend between the two mics. They sit on the same speaker, so they blend in phase.
- Custom IR loader for WAV, AIFF and FLAC, with IR blend against the mic'd built-in cab, plus level, low cut and high cut.
- Cab off sends the raw amp out to your own IR loader.

- Bass fuzz with Fuzz, Tone, Blend, Level, Gate and Sub.
- A 3-way SLAM / CORE / DOOM switch that retunes the whole circuit: tight bark, mid grind or slow dark bloom.

How does the Broketone free trial work?
Download it and use every feature for 7 days. To keep using it after that, buy a license and enter your Gumroad license key in the plugin.
Which DAWs does it work in?
Any VST3 host on Windows, such as FL Studio, Reaper, Ableton Live and Cubase. You can also run the Standalone app without a DAW.
What should I feed it?
A clean DI guitar signal, with no other amp sim in front of it.
What's the difference between Broketone and The Gallows?
Broketone is the full rig: amp head, six pedals, two-mic cab, DOUBLE and CHOKE. The Gallows is one of those pedals, the chainsaw distortion, free on its own with a simpler cab sim and IR loader. The Gallows needs no license key.
